Checking Out a Bike
Answer
Macalester students, staff, and faculty can rent a bike (along with a helmet, lock, and bike lights) at the Library Service Desk. There are currently fourteen bikes in the fleet. Bikes are available in three different sizes with adjustable seat posts and handles to fit all different riders. Bikes are parked on the racks near the outside of the building and should be locked there when you return your bike. Please remember to lock the bike up through the bike's frame.
In order to check out a bike, each patron must first fill out the Bike Share Waiver, which can also be done at the Library Service Desk. Bikes can be checked out for 24 hours, with a limit of one bicycle per patron, and cannot be reserved unless part of an official Macalester-sanctioned club or organization.
Bikes are available for checkout seasonally, from late spring to late fall as weather allows.
