Course Reserve Program

In collaboration with Macalester College Student Government (MCSG), the library maintains a textbook reserve program that offers limited copies of select textbooks. All textbooks are chosen and purchased by MCSG’s Academic Affairs committee with additional titles purchased twice per year. The library also works with professors to supplement the textbooks supplied by MCSG with resources from our collection that are being used in courses taught that semester. In order to make these materials available to as many students as possible, all items on reserve have shorter checkout periods than normal library materials.
You can use this course reserves search box to check what books are on reserve for your courses. We recommend searching by using the four-letter course code, e.g. ENGL for English courses.
