New York Times Subscription

Answer

Macalester College has an institutional subscription to New York Times, courtesy of Macalester College Student Government. This subscription is available to all students, faculty and staff. In order to gain access, you will need to set up a NYTimes.com Pass with your Macalester email address.

To create your NYTimes.com Pass:

  1. Visit AccessNYT.com and select “Macalester College.”
  2. Create a new account using your Macalester.edu email address, or link your existing free account by logging in.
  3. You will receive an email asking you to verify your email address. Once you do that, your account will become fully active.

Reactivating your Pass:

If you are faculty or staff, you will be required to reactivate your NYTimes Pass each year. More information can be found here: NYTimes.com Passes.

Note for existing NYT subscribers:

If you currently have an active paid account with the New York Times paired with your Macalester email address, you cannot register for an Academic Pass without first canceling your existing subscription. If you have questions about an existing paid account, contact the NYT Customer Care line at 1-800-NYTIMES or send an email to educationassistance@nytimes.com.
