Because of the nature of archival collections, requests for materials form the College Archives and Rare Books Collection require advance notice. Please fill out the form as thoroughly as possible to provide us with as much information as possible to help us schedule and prepare an appointment for you.

24 hours advance notice is required for working with Archives and Special Collections materials. Research appointments are generally available Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm. Prior to your visit, please review our guidelines for using Archives and Special Collections: https://www.macalester.edu/library/archives/guidelines/.

Guest researchers are encouraged to work with Archives and Special Collections materials; however, access to the Macalester College Library is currently limited to card access. If you are a visitor to campus, a member of the Archives and Special Collections staff will meet you at the entrance to the DeWitt Wallace Library at your confirmed appointment time. All visitors to Macalester's campus are expected to wear a well-fitted mask while indoors in public spaces, regardless of vaccination status.
